Dear Mulligan, I have a problem. I'm in love with someone who is on the football team, but they're already dating someone else, and we just so happen to be good friends too. What should I do?

Speaking as a groundhog with prior experience in matters of the heart, I think you should consider this: If they are in a serious relationship, the best thing you could do is leave them alone. If you really value your friendship with this person on the football team, wouldn't you want them to be happy? Besides, there's other people out there. Maybe you just haven't met "your person" yet- the majority of high school relationships just aren't meant to be anyways. HOWEVER, it doesn't mean you can't tell your friend how you feel. Sometimes things do work out in the end. Keep your head up!
