Thumbs up...
... To Fall, football, sweatshirts, and pumpkin pie. There’s arguably nothing better than when the leaves start to change and the weather starts to cool down.
... To the NBA bubble. Even though the Bucks are out, the bubble has been an exciting and unusual event that has given sports fans a much needed return to normality (or close enough at least).
... To outdoor seating for giving us a way to go out with friends and family while still staying socially distanced.
... To supporting small businesses. During these hard and confusing times, it’s always great to support local businesses that make our community unique.
... To the first Index Issue since February. While we may not be able to hand out paper copies right now, it has been amazing being able to work with our writers and editors to put out another issue of your award winning school newspaper!
Thumbs down...
... To coronavirus. There really isn’t much more to say about COVID that everyone does not already know, but eventually life will go back to normal and we will be able to look back on the virus as a bad memory and a learning experience for the future.
... To virtual learning. It’s not the start of the year we were hoping for, but safety is important, especially right now.
... To forest fires. 2020 started with numerous tragedies and has just spiraled into chaos at this point.
... To Murder Hornets. Once again 2020 decided to throw us another curveball with the emergence and expansion of these murder hornets and proved that this year can get worse.
... To climate change. The world climate clock created by both artists and activists displayed that we have just over seven years to make drastic changes as the human race to save the planet before we reach a tipping point of irreversible change.
