Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down
Thumbs Up…
… To graduation, the end of high school and the bittersweet start to new adventures. It is safe to say most of us will miss the crowded halls of West and the classic “at this time Oshkosh West is on a hold” that we got so used to hearing over the loudspeaker.
… To senior awards night, even though an in-person ceremony was not practical, the awards were still a good way to end the year for seniors.
… To the new CDC guidelines loosening mask restrictions on those who are vaccinated. However, this does not mean the end to COVID. EVERYONE needs to do their part and either get vaccinated, mask up, or both, until we can put this virus in the rear-view.
… To the last issue of your award-winning school newspaper for this school year. While it was a short year we were extremely excited to be able to hand out paper copies to students.

Thumbs Down…
… To the long wait for AP test scores; while AP readers are hard at work dishing out feedback and the dreaded 2, students sit awaiting their scores.
… To Aaron Rodgers for making every Packer fan wonder what they will have to deal with at quarterback next season. I’m sorry that the four years, $134 million dollars with a near $60 million dollar signing bonus to play for a contender every year isn’t good enough but hey, maybe the Broncos or the 49ers can find a way to sneak into the wild card game.
… To the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has just recently led to the deaths of over 230 people on both sides, including over 60 children.
… To students for not joining the Oshkosh West Index. On a personal note, joining Index was one of the best decisions I have ever made; the friends, the experiences, the food, and the lessons I have learned that have helped me grow as both a writer and as a person. Don’t be a silly goose, join Index.
