100 strokes of pen trace armageddon

Less than 24 hours after his inauguration, President Donald Trump has signed a slew of executive orders, many of which discourage the idea that America is the “land of the free.” Here are some ‘highlights’  Read ‘em and weep.  We had a good run.  

  • Withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement

  • Proposed the termination of automatic birthright citizenship

  • Declared the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America

  • Shut down CBP One app, which allowed migrants to apply to legally enter the United States as Asylum seekers

  • Pardoned more than 1,000 January 6, 2021 rioters, even the violent offenders

  • Withdrew the United States from the World Health Organization

  • Extended the TikTok ban by 75 days

  • Signed an executive order claiming there are only two sexes, male and female 

  • Revoked former President Biden’s order that allowed transgender people to serve in the US military

  • Signed an order banning diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in federal agencies

  • Revoked an executive order that had required the extension of prohibitions on sex discrimination to include sexual orientation and gender identity by federal agencies

  • Re-added Cuba to US terror list

  • Restored the death penalty in order to “deter violent crimes”

  • Declared a national emergency at the Southern Border

  • Allowed US military to act as immigration and border enforcement officers

  • Barred United States government officials from pushing social media companies to combat misinformation

  • Repealed White House educational initiatives for Hispanics, Native Americans, and Black Americans

  • Repealed Department of Education guidelines concerning transgender rights and the advisement on how to support and protect LGBTQ individuals

  • Required all federal workers to return to full-time in-person work

  • Repealed Biden directives that were intended to make it easier to enroll in Medicaid services

  • Require fingerprints and DNA samples from immigration detainees

  • Terminated “parole programs” (“family reunification”)
