Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down
Thumbs down…
…To losing the E-wing computer lab and the Index being relocated to the C-wing. Your award-winning school newspaper is now also an award-winning exercise program.
…To two holds in a row on the third week in. At least there’s never a dull moment in this building.
…To the masquerade homecoming theme. The halls could have adorned the classic 1920s or a whimsical garden, but no. Each day at school is already a “Mask”erade. Who voted for that anyway?
...To the “Devious Licks” trend causing unneccesary stress and hassle to staff and weariness of students to use the bathrooms. As if teachers and custodians didn’t have enough to worry about.
...To mask acne, known to some as “maskne,” the notorious result of our continuous COVID woes.
Thumbs up…
… To attending sporting events and planning Homecoming once again. The fire of Wildcat pride has been relit.
… To the Index TikTok account! @oshkoshwestindex where you can find all of your award-winning school newspaper’s marvelous videos.
… To the free lunch program. providing pizza, chicken patties, and waffle fries to those who can fight through the O and F room lunch lines.
… To the brand new tennis courts that were almost done on time, providing our tennis teams and gym classes a safer place to participate.
… To no boiler room fires as we resume in-person learning. The idea of walking to Tipler or Lourdes in the cold sends shivers down the spines of those A-Day surivivors.
