Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down
Thumbs up…
...To Thanksgiving and winter break arriving right around the corner. Everyone has been feeling the second quarter post homecoming slump.
...To winter sports starting to regroup and take to the courts, rinks, pool, mats, and stages. After the jumble of sports last year, Wildcats are looking forward to a more normal winter season.
...To the longest consecutive school day count this year without holds. How long can West hold onto this streak now? Our dual deans must be doing a good job holding students accountable.
...To the kickoff of the holiday season. Here’s to Christmas music, the first snow, seeing family once a year, and of course, drinking endless mugs of hot chocolate and eggnog to combat the chilly weather.
...To Mr. Beast cleaning up trash from beaches worldwide with his movement, #TeamSeas.

Thumbs down…
...To winter weather creeping into the pores of Wisconsin; don’t forget to throw your ice scraper on the floor of your backseat and work on your balance.
...To Kyle Rittenhouse’s “innocence.” How kind of the district attorney to allow homicidal teenage vigilantes to run loose in the streets of Wisconsin.
...To daylight savings. One hour of extra sleep does not make up for a season of pitch black afternoons. We’re “falling back” in school enough as it is.
...To five day weeks; hybrid Wednesdays aren’t the worst idea the OASD has ever had. At least allow us pajama day once a week so we can reminisce.
...To annual family quarrels at the dining table on Thanksgiving. Your parents can argue with your uncle about the same subject every year, it won’t sway either side’s opinions. Stay away from sports and politics!
